Hello Crestians! Here is an update newsletter to catch everybody up to date on what's going on this month.
First, the winners of the Staff Upgrade contest!
Shards Horns, by CrimsonFurro
Octo Tail, by KobiShihai
Plasma Globe Tail, by zer0twentyfour
Ssael Eyes, by FlareFireFox
Lantern Tail, by Doodlebugsnotebook
and, due to there being a direct tie of votes in the staff chat:
Frozen Heights Tail, by SpottyLuck!
These upgrades are able to be used immediately by the community, and will be added to the Wixsite! Winners may also claim 1 Ringel.
We also had some honorable mentions that we would like to compensate as well due to them being so good, and very close in votes to the winners:
Mana Markings, by Kitsicles
Bejeweled Blade Tail, by LoveIsLaw
Satellites, by MusiqueHarmonia
Colored Flames, by JuPhantomhive
The honorable mentions are able to claim 5 Capella!
Rules and general updates
TRANSFERS
Rule change #1:
Whistler Crest holds no affiliation with other ARPGs. Should you choose to transfer a character from another group into our community, that character will become a citizen of Whistler Crest and cannot exist simultaneously elsewhere.
This rule was in place from the original iteration of transfers, and we find it to be rather restrictive now, and feel it doesn't really make much sense. As of now, this rule is now null! So if you have a character you would like to transfer in from another group, but still want to keep active in the original group, you are free to do so!
Rule change #2: The limit on how many transfers you wish to have has been lifted. There is no longer a five transfer limiter, and you may make as many as you want freely! The time limit still applies however.
Breeding
Poly breeding is officially released this month! The limit of partners has been capped at 5 partners total, and the system is ready to go!
The update announcing this will be displayed on the breeding page.
There is another, surprise element being released in breeding, alongside poly couples! This is a permanent roll being added to the roster, and will not be announced until somebody rolls it! We do think that you guys will like it however~
While there will not be an official Heartsgiving or First Thaw event this year, we would like to still release the Heart Bettas gifting tradition! All the rules are the same from the previous years, and gifting exchanges are to be carried out in #hg-events! Please make sure to approve your Heart Bettas on an official pet template before April 1st (one month time limit, not including Feb.)
Interested in a certain seasonal rarity? If you draw your Mainlander character gifting a Heart Betta to another character, or your Islander interacting or assisting an Oceanic form Heart Betta during its migration, you may unlock x2 Heartsgiving upgrades with a limit of two characters total to apply on either a Mainland or an Islander character! (Lovely Horn and Cupids Mask are still Islander exclusive).
Pictures must be polished with a background to count.
If you would like to, feel free to host a Heartsgiving Member event! If you need sponsorship for this event, please reach out to a High Council mod in the discord (note, Nera may be harder to reach due to a new job), and we can discuss from there! You may include HG Rarities as part of your sponsorship prize pools!
Double EXP is also making a return this month for all drawings, including Flashback art! The double EXP is active from Feb. 1st to Feb. 29th.
Need activities to do?
The second flashback prompt has been released, and is available for everybody participating in the reboot to complete! The end time limit for all prompts is at the end of the Flashback, July 1st, 2024.
Another Staff Challenge will be released this month. This one WILL require real world participation, but nothing major.
The Newbie Referral event is still active as well! It's a good chance to draw some promotional art, write status updates, or otherwise promote the group due to both you and the newbie getting some sweet prizes at the end!
The Schoolhouse C.W.P is still active, but EXTREMELY close to being finished!, we currently have 30 points needed out of 50.
Quick reminder of the CWP points scale:
1) Flat colors with cleaned up lines and no bg earns you: [2 points]
2) Shaded art with a simple background earns you: [3 points]
3) Shaded art with a complex background earns you: [5 points]
We also have a form here for those that would like to vote for the next C.W. P! The most popular answer will be chosen, and announced in a week’s time on the 8th!
Thank you for reading!
